Gabe and Monica know what they are doing, and love what they do! Our two large dogs are unable to fly on any airline due to breed restrictions, and it was so relieving to find Cabin Companions who were set up to hit the road with them. Thank you both so much for taking such good care of our boys, and communicating with us start to finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is dog flight companion service different from cargo shipping?

With our service, your dog flies in-cabin with a dedicated escort — not in the cargo hold. We provide fully personalized, stress-free travel for your dog, with no cargo risks or third-party handoffs.

Will I receive live tracking and updates?

Yes! You’ll receive live AirTag tracking and real-time updates throughout your dog’s journey — so you always know how they’re doing.

What types of dogs do you relocate?

We transport most small and medium dogs that meet airline in-cabin size and weight requirements. We also offer private transport options for larger dogs.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at lest 8–12 weeks in advance when possible, especially for international or seasonal travel. We also accommodate last-minute needs when we can — just reach out!

Do you provide international dog relocation?

Yes! We specialize in international dog transport and can guide you through required paperwork and import requirements for your destination.

What does dog flight companion service typically cost?

Domestic trips typically range from $1,500–$2,500 USD. International trips generally start around $3,000+ depending on routing, timing, and destination.

Do you offer international dog transport?

Yes! We provide dog flight nanny services to many international destinations. Whether you’re relocating to Europe, Mexico, or beyond, we can custom-plan a safe, fully escorted journey for your dog — including help navigating airline and import requirements.

I don’t want my dog to fly — do you offer ground transport instead?

Yes — we also offer private ground transport for dogs! If you prefer not to fly your dog, we can arrange safe, climate-controlled door-to-door dog transportation. Our team has extensive experience with long-distance dog travel by car as well as by air. Just tell us what you’re looking for, and we’ll help plan the best travel option for your dog.

Is this safer than cargo shipping my dog?

Absolutely. In-cabin dog flight nanny service is significantly safer and more comfortable for dogs than cargo shipping. With Cabin Companions, your dog is never flown in cargo, never transferred between handlers, and never left alone. We personally escort your dog from pickup to delivery, with continuous supervision and real-time tracking throughout the entire journey.

What if my dog won’t fit in-cabin?

We’re happy to arrange options for climate-controlled cargo flights (when available and safe) or private ground transport for larger dogs.

What if my dog is a brachycephalic (short-nosed) breed?

Many airlines restrict where and when brachycephalic breeds can fly, particularly in cargo. We’re happy to arrange safe ground transport for domestic trips, or explore alternative routes where available.
Common brachycephalic breeds include:
• Bulldogs (English, French, American)
• Pugs
• Boxers
• Shih Tzus
• Boston Terriers
• Pekingese
• Lhasa Apsos
• Brussels Griffons
• Cane Corso
• Chow Chow
• Mastiffs
• Some mixed breeds with short-nosed traits

Can you fly my puppy? How old does my dog need to be to fly?

Most airlines require puppies to be at least 8–12 weeks old and fully weaned before flying. We’ll review your puppy’s age and health to ensure they’re ready for safe travel.

Can you help with international paperwork for my dog?

Yes! We handle international pet relocations regularly and can help guide you through vaccination, health certificate, and import requirements for your destination.

What does your full-service relocation include?

A: Our full-service, door-to-door relocations include:
• Personal escort with your dog at all times
• In-cabin flight (when possible) — no cargo unless required and approved
• Ground transport to/from airports and final destination
• Live tracking via AirTag
