Monica Tarant brings more than 30 years of high-level animal welfare experience to every Cabin Companions journey. Widely recognized as one of the nation’s foremost experts in feline sheltering and compassionate animal care, Monica has spent decades leading innovative programs, consulting with organizations across the country, and helping shape modern standards for feline welfare and transport.
Over the course of her career, Monica has helped save the lives of countless cats through progressive sheltering practices, large-scale relocation efforts, and the mentorship and education of a new generation of animal welfare professionals. Her work has influenced organizations and caregivers nationwide, with a focus on reducing stress, improving outcomes, and treating animals with dignity and compassion during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

With a background in nonprofit communications — including his work at a humane society — Gabe brings a calm, highly personalized approach to pet relocation, especially during emotionally overwhelming moves and complex travel situations.
Over the years, Gabe has personally traveled hundreds of thousands of miles accompanying pets by air and ground, helping families navigate everything from cross-country relocations to sensitive international journeys. Known for his responsiveness, steady communication, and hands-on involvement throughout the process, Gabe focuses on reducing stress for families, keeping pets safe and comfortable, and ensuring every journey feels personal rather than transactional.
MEET Natascha
A Steady Hand for Sensitive Journeys
Natascha brings veterinary experience as an Elite Fear Free Certified veterinary technician, behavioral understanding, and hands-on animal care expertise to Cabin Companions. With experience in both clinical and shelter environments, Natascha specializes in helping pets remain calm, comfortable, and safely supported during stressful situations and transitions — particularly for animals with anxiety, medical sensitivities, or fear-based behaviors.
Before joining Cabin Companions, Natascha worked alongside Monica for more than a decade in animal welfare and sheltering environments, helping care for animals during some of the most stressful and emotionally sensitive moments of their lives. Today, that same calm, welfare-focused approach guides her work supporting families through complex pet journeys and relocations. Whether assisting with a medically sensitive move, helping an anxious pet through airport procedures, or coordinating long-distance travel logistics, her focus remains the same: minimizing stress and ensuring pets feel safe, secure, and cared for every step of the way.
