What pet travel services does Cabin Companions offer?
We offer four levels of support: personally escorted pet travel, Fly Together support when you travel on the same route, private ground transportation, and expert pet travel planning for families managing the journey themselves.
How do I choose the right pet travel service?
Start with who is traveling, whether flying is appropriate for your pet, your route and timing, and how much responsibility you want us to carry. Tell us about your situation and we will recommend the safest, most practical level of support—even if a less extensive service is the better fit.
Do pets travel in the cabin or as cargo?
When airline rules, route, pet size, and health allow, our air-travel services are designed around in-cabin transportation or airline excess-baggage programs rather than conventional cargo shipping. Large dogs and pets who cannot safely or lawfully fly in cabin may be better served by private ground transportation. We will be candid when a proposed route or mode is not appropriate.
Can you help with international pet relocation?
Yes. We support domestic and international journeys, including airline research, routing, health-document timing, entry requirements, check-in, connections, customs guidance, and arrival planning. The exact service depends on the countries involved, airline rules, timing, and whether the family is traveling.
Do you transport large dogs by air?
Large dogs generally cannot travel in the passenger cabin on commercial airlines. Depending on the route and the dog’s needs, we typically recommend a private ground journey or assess another safe, lawful option. Cabin Companions does not coordinate conventional international cargo shipping.
Can you help a family traveling with multiple pets?
Yes. We regularly design journeys for multi-pet families. Your family may travel with one pet while a Cabin Companion cares for another, or multiple Cabin Companions may travel together when airline limits require it. The number, size, species, route, and airline rules determine the safest plan.
Can you travel with anxious, senior, or medically complex pets?
Often, yes. Every plan considers the pet’s age, temperament, mobility, medical needs, medication schedule, carrier comfort, and stress triggers. We coordinate travel-day care around veterinary instructions and will recommend changing, delaying, or declining a journey when that is better for the pet.
Will the same person manage my pet’s journey from start to finish?
Yes. Cabin Companions does not use gig workers, marketplace contractors, or mystery handoffs. The small team involved in planning remains accountable through travel and reunion, and families receive direct communication and proactive updates.
How much do pet travel services cost?
Pricing depends on route, travel time, fares, number of pets, documentation needs, and complexity. Escorted domestic air travel generally starts at $2,995, international air journeys at $6,500, cross-country private ground journeys at $5,500, and Pet Travel Planning at $750. Regional ground journeys are often less. Every family receives a detailed proposal explaining what is included.
