Katie’s family had adopted Dixie Belle, a cat living in New Jersey, and wanted to bring her safely home to Austin. The distance was manageable by air, but Katie was understandably concerned about everything that could happen between pickup and arrival: how Dixie would respond to flying, how she would move through TSA screening, and whether she would remain secure and comfortable throughout the trip.

One Companion From Pickup to Reunion
We began by flying from Detroit to Newark Liberty International Airport. From EWR, we traveled by car to Dixie’s current home, met her caregiver, and took personal responsibility for her journey. We then returned together by ground transportation to Newark for the flight to Texas.
At the airport, we managed check-in and TSA screening with close attention to Dixie’s security. She remained with us in the aircraft cabin throughout the flight—never in cargo and never transferred to an unknown handler.
Home With Her New Family
When we landed in Austin, Katie met us at the airport to welcome Dixie home. She was thrilled to finally meet her new cat and could see that Dixie had been loved and carefully cared for along the way.
