Brown tabby cat Ramona tucked into white hotel bedding during her international pet journey.
An anxious cat, a carefully prepared international itinerary, and two quiet hotel stays helped Ramona travel safely from Memphis to her new home in Tel Aviv.

Ramona’s journey from Memphis to Tel Aviv was never going to be a simple airport handoff. International pet travel to Israel requires careful advance preparation, precise veterinary documentation, and a plan that accounts for the animal—not only the flights.

Her owner was especially worried because Ramona lives with anxiety. The uncertainty of a long travel day, multiple airports, and an unfamiliar companion can feel daunting when you know your cat is sensitive to change. Our job was to make every part of the trip as steady and predictable as possible.

Route: Memphis, Tennessee → New York City → Tel Aviv, Israel
Service: We Travel With Your Pet
Pet: Ramona — cat
Special considerations: Anxiety, international documentation, and a delayed reunion

Preparing for Israel

Before travel, we helped make sure Ramona’s paperwork and entry preparations were aligned with Israel’s requirements. We then picked her up in Memphis and spent the night together in a pet-friendly hotel, giving her time to become familiar with us before the longest part of the journey began.

The next day, we flew from Memphis to JFK and continued directly to Tel Aviv. Despite everyone’s concerns, Ramona proved to be an excellent flyer. She handled the long route beautifully and arrived safely in Israel.

A Thoughtful Arrival

Ramona’s owner was still moving into her new apartment, so an immediate reunion would have placed Ramona in the middle of boxes, open doors, and unfamiliar activity. Instead, we stayed with her in a pet-friendly hotel on the other side. For two days, she had a calm room, consistent care, and time to recover while her new home was made ready.

When everything was settled, we brought Ramona home and reunited her with her owner. It was an emotional ending to a meaningful journey—and a reminder that sometimes the most important part of pet travel happens after the plane lands.
